Communications Specialist

TI Verbatim Consulting is currently looking to hire a Communications Specialist for a long-term contract (18+ months in duration). This position must be worked onsite in Falls Church, VA.

Title: Communications Specialist

Location: Falls Church, VA

Summary:

The Communications Specialist supports a contract in a government agency. In this role, the Communications Specialist will provide expertise and support in accordance with the mission and goals of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Independent Verification and Validation (NASA IV&V) Management and Communications Support 2 (IMACS-2) contract. The IMACS-2 contract provides technical and administrative services to the NASA IV&V Program’s Senior Communications Office (SCO) in the following areas: strategic communications, knowledge management, events, website support, survey support, metrics, and general SCO support. The Communications Specialist shall provide communications and event support to the NASA IV&V Program, as well as supporting the efforts of the IMACS-2 team as a whole.

Responsibilities:

• Support internal and external communications by assisting in the planning and developing of communications campaigns and involvement in agency strategic planning.
• Develop and implement plans for communication, such as reports and publications, as well as content designed to inform and educate key stakeholders and the general public about complex engineering, technical and non-technical concepts.
• Support the planning and execution of events, including program award or employee engagement events, mission celebrations, community, and STEM related events.
• Maintain an active presence while representing the agency on social media platforms.
• Ability to leverage data and analytics to support marketing and communications initiatives.
• Keen customer focus is essential; ability to engage personally with customer/client team to discover and deliver on their needs.
• Ability to partner and align with greater organizational goals as well as group goals.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create deliverables in a result driven, team-oriented environment.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with all levels of management and employees.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and with a team to accomplish objectives.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in meaningful and engaging ways.
• Must be detail-oriented, with strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or related degree
• 3 or more years of experience in developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies and materials that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives.
• Management of a variety of social media platforms
