Community Engagement Director

POSITION SUMMARY:


The Community Engagement Director will refine and execute the LVGP community engagement strategy by managing community partnerships, projects, and events. This position supports the Las Vegas Grand Prix business as well as the Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation and Grand Prix Plaza.


Key areas of focus include serving as a liaison between LVGP and community stakeholders, coordinating with F1 ESG, and creating programs and partnerships that allow the local community to more deeply connect with LVGP.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Plan and execute community initiatives, events, and activations consistent with the agreed pillars of the engagement strategy.
  • Ensure community engagement activities and initiatives create a sense of pride about LVGP throughout Southern Nevada.
  • Stand up and manage a small and diverse business initiative to connect local businesses with opportunities to provide goods and services.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and measure sustainability efforts, to help LVGP achieve NetZero along its circuit by 2030.
  • Collaborate with PR, Marketing, and Corporate Communications teams to leverage community initiatives to achieve earned and social media.
  • Stand up and manage community engagement content on all LVGP communications channels in partnership with Marketing.
  • Represent LVGP in the community and to all key LVGP stakeholders.
  • Create and execute a plan to engage the executive team to serve as ambassadors for LVGP at key community events.
  • Manage the community engagement budget.
  • Vet, review, and recommend in-bound requests for donations.
  • Track and measure all data and results surrounding community engagement and sustainability initiatives.
  • Create an annual community impact report.
  • Work collaboratively with our Legal and Community Relations Coordinator
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, or equivalent years’ experience.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Southern Nevada community and business landscape.
  • Established community, government, and business relationships in Southern Nevada.
  • At least five years of experience managing community-facing events and programs.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and events as business dictates.
