Work closely with Supplier Engineers, Design, Manufacturing, and project teams to implement performance, quality, capacity, and cost improvements.
Select the right process and suppliers for the part, considering long term fit and total cost of ownership.
Source, select and qualify alternate component technologies and supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on material cost reduction, capacity enhancement, streamlining of supply chain, and commodity strategy.
Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources.
Drive to closure supplier variances from symptom through root cause analysis to corrective action, including succinct.
CAPA/SCAR documentation; Evaluate and qualify supplier requested material, design and process changes.
Maintain key metrics for the team and suppliers, and continually drive for timely achievement of those metrics.
Work Experience / Educational Background:
Electrical or Electro-optical background preferable.
