Concept Prototype Engineer

In this creative role, you will work with a variety of disciplines and product groups within Cirtec Medical Corporation to create novel devices and processes. You will play a central role in exploring and developing concepts related to products that are integral for medical devices.

This position leads the rapid prototyping cell including 3D printing development with-in our technology center. As Concept Prototype Engineer you will be responsible for initiating creative ways to 3D print unique designs with specialty materials and complex geometries for products that are needed for customer specific applications with-in the medical device field.

Duties

• Design and fabricate prototype devices that will interface with Cirtec’s medical applications.
• Support concept transfer to multiple site locations and engineering groups.
• Communicate ideas through working demonstrations, videos, and graphical means.
• Debug/troubleshoot new concepts.
• Support testing and evaluation of new concepts.
• Perform and interpret mold flow results into real world applications.
• Present prototypes and ideas to cross-functional partners.
• Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting to program needs as required.
• Support senior team members in a variety of innovation and product exploration activities.

• Demonstrated ability to fabricate and evaluate prototypes while attending to aesthetic details.
• Ability to balance speed and quality of work based on objectives.
• Independent, self-starter, with good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with CAD software such as Solidworks, AutoCad, etc.
• Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printers, lasers and CNC machines.
• Some experience writing presentations summarizing successes and failures and proposing a solution.
• Some experience in injection molding
