Job purpose

The Design Network is searching for a dynamic, tech savvy team player with a passion for media, entertainment and technology and a desire to learn each day. As Content Distribution Manger, you will play a key role in distributing The Design Network’s television portfolio to 24-hour streaming and video-on-demand (VOD) partners and digital platforms, ultimately growing the network, increasing viewership month-over-month, and successfully delivering results to network sponsors. You should be positive, quick on your feet, solution-oriented and willing to put in the time to master a growing suite of distribution platforms and tools.

We curate inspirational content from our design community and produce original TV series where consumers are entertained and can learn from the pros. Available on all major streaming platforms including Samsung TV Plus, DIRECTV, The Roku Channel, Sling TV, Freevee, Amazon Fire TV, Plex, Xumo, fuboTV and more.

Hybrid: Remote/In-Office (requiring up to 2-3 days in Jamestown, NC office per week)


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain TDN’s portfolio of series/video content and corresponding metadata on multiple distribution services (currently Wurl, Amagi CloudPort and Gracenote) and digital platforms
  • Receive, manage and organize video, photography and graphic assets provided by production partners
  • Support the ingestion of new content: collecting assets, procuring closed captioning files, creating .csv and .xml data files, and uploading video and metadata to distribution and digital platforms
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director on programming strategies, stunts, and content launch calendar
  • Manage day-to-day scheduling of the 24-hour linear channel and work closely with the Creative Director to obtain and proof schedules, create long/short-term scheduling strategies, and provide EPG (electronic programming guide) data to streaming partners
  • Build content/episode blocks and playlists in distribution platforms
  • Manage and track the distribution of VOD content to individual streaming partners
  • Track custom channel requirements and specifications for individual streaming platforms
  • Gather network analytics from TDN’s multiple streaming platforms. Identify programming and scheduling trends that drive viewership and evaluate content performance to inform the overall programming strategy.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide specific analytics for sponsor reporting, case studies, and sales tools
  • Monitor The Design Network channel playout for accuracy in scheduling, EPG data and overall quality


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional time management and project management skills, especially working within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, ability to multi-task
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Aptitude for quickly learning new software and user-interfaces as needed
  • Basic knowledge of video and graphic files
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Experience collecting data and interpreting analytics
  • Knowledge of and passion for the entertainment industry and home / lifestyle programming
  • Ability to work well with others and collaborate across the organization to achieve goals
