The Control Room Operator controls and monitors all facility activities and communicates and dispatches urgent matters as needed. The Control Room Operator is the main point of contact between field personnel, management, first responders, and customers; ensuring safe, uninterrupted, and optimized business operations.
Qualifications
Relevant and progressively responsible experience in an electric power-generating plant
Completion of a Plant System Operator Apprenticeship program is valued
Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required
Ability to coach and train others in ways that ensures understanding, performance, and with a focus on continuous improvement
Skills
Thermal electric generating processes
Boiler and turbine/generator operating procedures
Plant emergency and safety procedures
Environmental Guidelines
Electric distribution systems
Operating combustion control systems
Monitoring and changing boiler fuels
Troubleshooting plant processes
Synchronizing generators
Operating circuit breakers
Monitoring and adjusting plant chemistry
Responsibilities
24 hour rotating shift work
Office setting
PPE will be provided
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable): This position must be able to pass a Federal Background Check and have or be able to obtain a US security clearance.
