The Controller is responsible for direct oversight of the accounting team and helps guide the financial decisions of the organization by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape. They are responsible for the management and oversight of financial statements, treasury, payroll, and audit and tax compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive financial reporting to senior management by calculating and analyzing important data elements.
Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines at the direction of the CFO
Responsible for all oversight, management, and professional development of the accounting team.
Maximize efficiencies through innovative process improvement and development
Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, budgets and expenditures.
In conjunction with CFO, establish financial reporting standards and clear communication to all users of financial data.
Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all accounting functions
Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures and workflow.
Act as first point of contact for all accounting practices and relevant questions, concerns and organizational needs.
Prepare analyses of revenue and provider compensation
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
Ability to communicate effectively with executive-level and cross-functional teams, both verbally and in writing
Strong history of financial project management
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
Ability to multitask and handle a high level of complexity
Detail oriented and ability to organize/prioritize projects and deadlines
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
Ten (10) + years progressive experience in accounting leadership roles
CPA highly preferred
Strong understanding of financial processes in multi-site healthcare services businesses
Experience working in private equity-backed businesses, including accounting and financial integration activities related to potential M&A
Proficiency in MS Office
