CMM Programmer: PCDMIS

TekPro is partnered with a leading automotive component manufacturer in the Elmhurst, IL area in their search for a CMM Programmer! This is a direct hire position with competitive salary and excellent benefits through the employer.


About The Job


You will play a crucial role in performing layouts to ensure customer sampling submissions meet our customers' contracted requirements in accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness. You will have the chance to be proficient in measuring equipment calibration and other related practices. Responsibilities


• Programming with PC-DMIS

• Plan, perform, and document part layouts, capability studies, and gauge repeatability and Reproducibility Studies.

• Verify fit, form, and function for intended use as defined by customer and our expectations.

• Manage all instruments in our calibration management software. Coordinate third-party calibration schedule on and off-site per the calibration database.

• Provide weekly report to Metrology Manager to ensure all gages requiring outside calibration are sent out in a timely manner so calibration does not exceed its defined frequency and is coordinated with the quality group to prevent any interruption on release of product for shipping to schedules.

• Maintain the gage log and order gages as required.

• Attend meetings as determined by the Metrology Manager.

• Communicate effectively with departmental supervision to enable proactive responses to customers and suppliers.

• Perform special metrology projects as required by suppliers and customers.


Qualifications


• Knowledgeable of various quality system measuring devices including video and contact CMMs, CMM software applications such as PCDMIS, handheld gages, etc.

• Able to apply GD & T measuring in the interpretation of engineering requirements

• Proficient in Word, Spreadsheets, Calibration (tool and gage), Outlook, and a variety of alternative software solution packages.

• Accurate in the processing of data and information, record keeping, and tabulating.

• Proficient in blueprint reading.

• Familiar with the application, use, and locating registered specifications (ASTM, MIL, etc.), nondestructive and destructive testing, and functional verification.
