Culinary Chef Trainer

The Center for Discovery is seeking a qualified candidate to join our culinary administrative team. The ideal candidate will have a culinary degree and/or at least 5 years’ experience working in kitchens, preferably in some type of management or oversight capacity. ServSafe or another food safety certification preferred.

This Position Focuses On 3 Main Areas

  • Culinary training for nonculinary staff
  • Guidance for culinary staff in executing their daily activities
  • Culinary support on an as-needed basis

Please note: this is not a strictly cooking position i.e. much of the job is training and working with people who may be unfamiliar to cooking, who need an experienced hand to help them prepare food and follow basic food safety. A successful candidate will be good with people, have excellent communication skills, be computer savvy, and understand the importance of whole, nonprocessed food in health.

Requirements

Culinary degree and/or at least 5 years of experience working in kitchens, mangagement/oversight capacity preferred.
