Title: Curriculum Coordinator

Department: Academics

Reports to: VP of Academics

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

General Purpose: The primary responsibility of the Curriculum Coordinator is to manage and monitor the development, implementation, and revision of educational curricula across all CSI programs that meet the need of the student body. Their role is critical in collaborating with faculty and staff, incorporating student and faculty feedback in curricular projects, and identifying areas of curricular improvement. Additionally, the Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that academic programs and relevant documentation meet institutional standards and accreditation requirements while aligning with CSI strategic goals.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage curriculum development projects, including selection and procurement of educational materials, and coordination with external vendors.
  • In collaboration with faculty, Subject Matter Experts, and vendors design and revise curriculum materials, ensuring they align with regulatory requirements and institutional strategic goals.
  • Incorporate current educational research, best practices, and feedback from students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ensure that current curriculum supports certification(s) content requirements and meets accreditation requirements.
  • Conduct professional development workshops for faculty focused on curriculum content, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
  • Partner with Academic Leadership to evaluate student learning outcomes and recommend improvements to curriculum to enhance student success.
  • Curate and develop resources for faculty to support them in delivering the curriculum effectively.
  • Select and manage instructional materials, textbooks, and other resources that support the curriculum.
  • Explore and integrate new teaching methodologies and technologies that enhance learning.
  • Conduct and apply educational research to inform curriculum decisions.
  • Participate in the Curriculum Review Committee.
  • Assist in planning and preparation for the Program Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, curriculum and instruction, teaching or other related field is required. The position requires a background in education, organizational skills, and attention to detail. At least 2-3 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, or educational administration is preferred. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a team. The Curriculum Coordinator should have experience in curriculum design and development, lesson planning, and program evaluation. They should have knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, as well as the ability to implement them effectively. A successful candidate should be passionate about improving education and open to new ideas.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Skills:

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Incumbent must be able to use the following equipment and software packages with proficiency:

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
