SALARY COMPENSATION PACKAGE: $15.14 hourly/$31,500.00 annually

WORK PERIOD: Monday-Friday 4:00 PM - 1:00 AM.

Job Objective: Performs safety-sensitive semi-skilled to skilled level custodial and security duties under limited supervision to improve the general security and assist in the custodial/light maintenance of the school and immediate grounds around these buildings to provide students and school employees with a safe, attractive, comfortable and clean place to work, learn, and develop. An incumbent in this position will follow generally standardized operating policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Credentials: None

  • Required Lift Test

Experience: Six months related full-time work experience preferred; 12 months related part-time experience acceptable

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Strengthens relationships by developing students and clients and staff, partnering with businesses and schools and collaborating with community leaders through participating in school or community activities.
  • Focuses on being a leader within the organization through personal accountability, active problem solving and positive forward thinking.
  • Focuses on continual improvement to assure quality products and excellent services to our customers and stakeholders.
  • Keeps inside of buildings neat and clean at all times. Empties trashcans in all rooms and offices daily. Picks up litter as needed, keeping corridors/hallways tidy. Cleans up after special events.
  • Cleans and disinfects restrooms and drinking fountains as necessary. Restocks dispensable products in restrooms as needed.
  • Maintains floors in a clean, safe, and attractive condition. This includes vacuuming, mopping, dust mopping or sweeping as needed. May be required to strip and wax floors or use scrubber or buffer.
  • Dust furniture, baseboards, bookshelves, etc. Clean walls.
  • Wash windows both inside and out when needed.
  • Maintain stock of supplies in work area and report to supervisor when supplies or equipment needs to be replenished or fixed.
  • Wash tables, clean floors, and re-arrange chairs in dining areas following student/staff breaks. Clean staff and student microwave/vending areas daily.
  • Move furniture including tables and chairs using assistive devices when necessary.
  • Able to learn the schools environmental computer program that regulates the heat, air conditioning, ventilation, and outside lighting in order to make adjustments as needed.
  • Assumes the responsibility for the opening and closing of the entrance gates and outside buildings during school and business times. Secure windows; turn off lights, set security alarm and raise/lower flags if requested.
  • Performs routine security checks of entries and parking lots, watching for vandalism and other suspicious activities. Notifies appropriate law enforcement agencies and supervisor of concerns.
  • Makes minor repairs/service to building and equipment and reports major repairs to Coordinator of Custodial Services.
  • May be required to work or be on-call during inclement weather or other non-related school closures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
