We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Customs Consultant to join our team on a full-time basis. The Customs Consultant will be responsible for providing strategic advice and operational support to clients on customs compliance matters, ensuring adherence to international trade regulations, and optimizing customs processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Roles And Responsibilities
Customs Compliance: Ensure clients comply with all relevant customs laws, regulations, and procedures.
Classification: Determine the correct classification of goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and other applicable classification systems.
Valuation: Advise on customs valuation methods and assist in determining the customs value of imported goods.
Tariff Engineering: Recommend strategies for tariff minimization and duty drawback opportunities.
Free Trade Agreements (FTAs): Assess eligibility and facilitate compliance with preferential tariff programs under FTAs.
Audit Support: Assist clients in preparing for and responding to customs audits and inquiries.
Import/Export Documentation: Review and prepare import/export documentation, including customs declarations and certificates of origin.
Client Advisory: Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on customs-related matters, including tariff implications, compliance risks, and opportunities for optimization.
Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for clients on customs compliance best practices and updates in trade regulations.
Technology Integration: Work with IT teams to implement customs compliance software solutions and automation tools.
