Title: Cytogenetics Technologist III (Diagnostic Services Company)
Location: Seattle, WA 98121
Salary: $95,000 - $110,000
Founded in 1995 we are a 100 employee diagnostic services laboratory that specializes in comprehensive hematopathology & residual disease monitoring. We have grown 20% in the past 2 years primarily in our research deparment as we gain marketshare in the space. We're looking for an experienced candidate in cytogenetics who can serve as a lead on our team. We offer flexiblity on hours & hybrid working to help accommodate all situations. What You Will Be Doing
Perform direct harvests of blood, bone marrow & solid tissue along w/ CD138+ enrichments on bone marrow aspirates
Prepare, hybridize & wash FISH slides
Perform FISH analysis of direct, CD138+ enriched, FACS sorted & paraffin embedded samples
Participate in quality management activities incl: documentation & equipment maintenance
Participate in proficiency testing (CAP).
Assist laboratory in maintain compliance w/ CLIA & CAP requirements
Rotating Saturdays & rotating weekday shifts (7am-3pm to 9am-5pm)
What You Need For This Position
Bachelors in Biology or similar discipline
5+ years of clinical FISH experience
FISH analysis of direct & enriched samples experience required
FISH analysis of paraffin embedded tissues for lymphoma is a plus
ASCP certification in cytogenetics or eligibility required
New assay development & instrument validation is a plus
