Data Center Technician

Installation and removal of physical components, servers, network devices, storage systems, and other hardware equipment within the data center according to specifications and guidelines. 
 
Perform routine maintenance tasks on servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and other hardware components. This includes inspecting, cleaning, and replacing components as needed. 
 
Manage and organize network and power cables within the data center racks and cabinets to ensure proper connections, airflow, and easy maintenance. 
 
Identify and troubleshoot hardware and network issues in the data center. This involves diagnosing problems, performing repairs or replacements, and coordinating with relevant teams or vendors as necessary. 
 
Physically mount and secure servers, switches, routers, and other devices onto racks or cabinets within the data center or data closet. Ensure proper labeling and documentation of equipment. 
 
Use monitoring tools and systems to track and document data center metrics such as temperature, humidity, power usage, and environmental conditions. Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, configurations, and maintenance activities. 
 
Respond to work orders and tickets related to data center operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ensure timely completion of tasks and proper documentation of work performed. 
 
Collaborate with other teams, such as network engineers, systems administrators, and facilities personnel, to resolve issues, implement changes, and support data center and data closet operations. 
 
Follow established standards, procedures, and best practices for data center operations, equipment handling, safety protocols, and incident management. 
 
Maintain an accurate inventory of data center equipment, including serial numbers, configurations, and warranty information. Leveraging Service Now to assist in tracking and managing hardware and software assets.
