Summary

  • The Design Engineer E2, WVPD Design Department, provides design support resulting in the creation and/or improvement of parts and/or systems to achieve certain targets for recreation vehicles regarding function, performance, durability, weight reduction, cost reduction, ease of manufacturing and so on, through engineering study and creating 3D CAD models, 2D CAD drawings, and BOM under the direction of Design Managers.
  • Typical parts/components that the Design Engineer E2 at YMMC WVPD develops:
    • Plastic body works
    • SMC/DLFT
    • Injection molding
    • Metal Stamping
    • Die Casting
    • Rubber compression molding
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manage the design and development of body parts for the recreational vehicle consumer product market from concept to production.
  • Design & Engineer parts, assemblies and vehicles on 3D CAD to pass required testing and meet cost targets.
  • Create 2D drawings for quotation and fabrication.
  • Conduct design engineering research and organize information to support the best design concept.
  • Brainstorm ideas to problem solve development issues, or to create the best new designs.
  • Work cross functionally with other groups, departments or companies while championing your responsible part development.
  • Meet testing requirements and testing maturity timeline.
  • Periodically give project status presentations to executives according to stage gate process.
  • Host design reviews with problem solving updates

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Strong Injection molding/compression molding knowledge required.
  • Strong plastic material knowledge(including but not limited to SMC,DLFT,PP,ASA,PA) required.
  • Strong Design problem solving skills related to testing difficulties strongly preferred.
  • Hands on vehicle building & testing preferred.
  • Experience using Siemens NX CAD software preferred
  • ( New material developmet experience is a plus.....)


Education And Experience

  • Ideal candidate should have minimum 3~5 years of experience in the development of parts and systems for a complex consumer product, such as recreational vehicles or Automotive.
  • Experience with consumer plastic part design and or metal parts.


Work Environment

95%-100% time spent in office environment.
