Designer - Store Planning

Assouline is seeking a Store Designer, who will be responsible for design development and project presentation with a creative approach. This individual must be detail-oriented and will be responsible for developing design concepts within Assouline standards under the direction of a project manager. Additionally, this role will work closely with the VM team to ensure consistency and quality level at a high standard.

Key Accountabilities

Design

• Develop and refine design concepts based on the creative direction from Senior Management.
• Define and frame design challenges, focusing team efforts on solutions aligned with the brand vision and intent.
• Provide in-depth research for project specific materials and products to expand in-house materials library.
• Strong knowledge of FFE, materials and millwork details.

Production

• Aid in the creation of the design intent set for the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and distribution to business partners.
• Communicate concisely to review issues and design solutions within Design Review meetings.
• Responsible for the creation and execution of 3D renderings of a store’s design or feature elements.
• Follow up with Project Manager, answering Requests for Information (RFI).

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Design or Architecture
• Experience in luxury environments -- hospitality and retail preferred.
• 3-4 years minimum professional experience
• Expert level proficiency in AutoCAD
• Proficiency in SketchUp
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite

The appointed candidate will be offered a salary of $75,000 annually. Please note that the forgoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.
