Academic support programs at community colleges have struggled to grow due limited campus space, lack of scheduling tools, and most importantly low participation due to the shift to online learning. With 69% of students losing peer communication and 76% losing access to study spaces, our team is addressing this dire need. Neoboard is the leader in this change, our study session management system is designed to improve student attendance and participation in study sessions while saving time for program directors through automation of study session scheduling and management. We are the only LTI application that helps college students succeed in their online classes through study sessions, while keeping them connected with their academic support programs and campus community. We help empower students to succeed together!

Our team is looking for a Development Tech Lead for-equity to work as part of our team to construct our cloud study session management system for the Neoboard web application for both students and instructors. Your duties include managing the development team to design and create the market product, communicating and collaborating with the founder and the development team, and participate in both development from scratch and communications between the founder and customers to further refine the MVP. Depending on initiative and progress, there is a possible route to a technical cofounder role. Requirements

4+ years experience working as hands-on full stack developer with modern B2B SaaS applications.

2+ years leading engineering teams using an Agile or Scrum methodology

Experienced with front/back end development. Senior developer level or architect level.

Ability to understand new technology concepts quickly and apply them accurately through an evolving, dynamic environment.

Familiar with software technologies in a current, broad and in-depth way. Able to understand every technological segment of the business.

Entrepreneurship - You’re a self-starter who loves to own things end-to-end. You don’t ask for permission - you’re too busy making things happen.

You're a "geek who can speak" - you have experience presenting in front of customers as a key technologist to all audiences and stakeholders.

Startup experience either leading or working with key developers, being comfortable working in a startup environment. All team members are taking no salary until product launch, with reduced salaries transitioning to market salaries thereafter. This applies to all leadership roles, including CEO.

Most important of all, a deep commitment to help students and educators.

Technology Requirements

Programming languages: Python, NodeJS is a plus

At least 1 year using AWS services

Experience developing REST API on AWS

Experience developing batch processing

Good to have some understanding of AI/ML services on AWS such as Transcribe and Comprehend

Responsibilities

You must be able to code and develop from scratch and own the technology roadmap

Communicates with the Founder on the business requirements to convey to the development team

Responsible for maintaining the specification documents, updating with new information from the founder based on feedback or changes to business requirements

Leads the team of developers, including setting up and attending all meetings with the development team

Lay the foundational groundwork for our development systems and practices

Takes on role of missing developers or as needed to complete current version of application

In case of missing talent, Lead Developer will need to participate in development from scratch complete current version of application

Attends sales pitches to answer all technical questions to customers

Interviews and hires on new developers to the Neoboard Team

Expectations: Board of Director calls will be conducted on Mondays 8 pm, and developer meetings to conduct sprint plans to be held on Saturday morning between 10 and 11 am. Times are subject to change

Anticipated Begin Date: Up to Two Weeks after Acceptance, there will be a 3 stage interview process

Approximate Hours Per Week: 30+ hours
