Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.

The Benefits Relationship Management (BRM) Team is responsible for relationship management with the institutions and individuals that CPG serves. BRM will collaborate with partners at CPG and external faculty to create impactful points of connection with benefits clients (existing and prospective) so that all come to understand, access and appreciate the products, programs and services we offer. BRM focuses on three distinct market segments: 1) dioceses, parishes and core institutions of The Episcopal Church; 2) international dioceses, Anglican Covenant Partners of The Episcopal Church, and non-core (affiliated) institutions; and 3) Chaplains to the Retired and Church Pension Fund (CPF) beneficiaries.

Director External Faculty Management and Training will be primarily responsible for creating and sustaining tools and processes supporting external faculty and related training for educational events, trainings, and conferences for CPG clients. This role requires someone well-versed in project management, who has excellent communication and problem-solving skills and is proficient when using technology to maximize efficiencies. An aptitude for creative solutions related to faculty needs and educational opportunities will also be important. This position will be a key liaison working closely with CPG departments including Engagement Strategy, Events Management Group, Content & Creative Services, and Benefits Policy to ensure vertical collaboration and alignment for both in person and virtual client education, as well as serve as key consultant for faculty, training, curriculum enhancements and program changes.

Essential Duties

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Leadership and strategy for external faculty engagement, recruitment and training.
  • Manage faculty coordination, preparation and support for CPG Business to Client (B2C) conferences including CREDO, Planning for Wellness, and some Business to Business (B2B) conferences including National Chaplains Gathering and CREDO Convocation.
  • Oversee annual faculty contract process (logistics, requirements, compliance) working cross functionally with HR, legal and others to manage and engage both Independent Contractors and Contingent (Casual Part Time) Employees.
  • Provide external faculty support as needed regarding communication, employment, scheduling, onboarding and training coordination.
  • Create and manage a robust database solution for tracking and scheduling faculty, conference assignments, training needs, evaluations, contract dates for all Independent Contractors and Contingent (Casual Part Time) Employees.
  • Understanding the strengths and personalities of individual faculty, develop and maintain seasonal faculty rosters to create the most effective and efficient team structures..
  • Manage faculty scheduling and facilitation of seasonal (spring and fall) CREDO Conference Leader and component calls.
  • Working cross-functionally, engage faculty to participate in CREDO component curriculum review process.
  • Assist in the development of agenda and training objectives for triennial CREDO Convocation.
  • Evaluate EOC survey results following each educational event and distribute to faculty; responding with coaching, feedback, and additional training as appropriate.
  • Coordinate collaboration of cross-section workstreams among verticals to ensure timely response delivering requested faculty and training needs.
  • Attend CPG conferences as necessary for faculty development and program effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusting, and professional relationships with internal departments/verticals involved in B2B/B2C client facing activities to drive program/project alignment, program coordination and workflow monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain expertise regarding CPG’s full range of employee benefit products, services, programs, and resources and maintain positive working relationships with staff, faculty and clients.
  • Serve as faculty as needed.
  • Lead and/or participate in strategic projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration.

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant business experience including coaching, management or church leadership experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience considered; Masters degree preferred
  • Conversational Spanish strongly preferred
  • Ordained Episcopal cleric strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with the polity of TEC required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Commuting to the office, on average, three days a week. Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid (two days working from home, three days working in a standard office environment). Salary Range: $104,400 - $136,000
