The Director, Regional Security Operations will partner with stakeholders across the organization and within their geographic region of responsibility to enhance business operations by identifying and mitigating security risks. The Director will work within the Regional Security Operations (RSO) team and partner with the broader Global Security team to develop region-specific plans to drive the execution of programs related to short, mid, and long-term goals for Global Security. The plans will support a robust physical security model to effectively protect McKesson assets and will include programs related to Transportation Security, Site Security Audits, Investigations, Site Security Officer Training, Contract Security Services, and other areas.

The Director, Regional Security Operations will partner with stakeholders across the organization and within their geographic region of responsibility to enhance business operations by identifying and mitigating security risks. The Director will work within the Regional Security Operations (RSO) team and partner with the broader Global Security team to develop region-specific plans to drive the execution of programs related to short, mid, and long-term goals for Global Security. The plans will support a robust physical security model to effectively protect McKesson assets and will include programs related to Transportation Security, Site Security Audits, Investigations, Site Security Officer Training, Contract Security Services, and other areas.
Regional Security Operations
- Oversee supply chain security operations in McKesson’s distribution business units
- Coordinate with Director, Global Security Risk Services to provide updates and maintain all GSS SOPs pertaining to supply chain security
- Conduct annual security audits as a corporate risk control function to assess BU adherence with Global Security standards
- Ensure proper security protective measures are established for all high-value pharmaceutical shipments departing DCs
- Collaborate effectively with BU leadership and other stakeholder groups, e.g., Compliance, General Counsel Organization, HR, Employee Relations, Real Estate, Risk Management as needed, to help drive solutions to business matters that arise
- Provide general security subject matter expertise to BUs
- Perform investigations as assigned; collaborate with Global Security Investigations as needed
- Provide support in the following areas: Crisis Management, Workforce disruption issues, Transportation security, ESS projects, Security Awareness training
- Assist with the coordination of contract security service support as appropriate
- Complete investigations as assigned and ensure that investigative reports are entered within the appropriate case management reporting system
- Ensure SSOs are assigned at all DCs; maintain a current roster of SSOs for assigned region
- Plan and conduct regional training events on a quarterly basis
- Assist with the planning and coordination of any Security & Safety conferences
- Support the annual planning process to identify, evaluate and propose potential initiatives within Global Security and recommend to Department senior leadership for consideration
- Act as a thought partner to Global Security leaders to help them identify opportunities/issues and develop high-quality and actionable recommendations to support achievement of annual Goals and Objectives
- Collaborate with Senior Manager, Global Security Investigations and Data Analytics to ensure relevant metrics are appropriately captured and resulting data insights are incorporated into the strategic planning process and reflected in security programming
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university or a minimum twelve (12) years of relevant experience.
- Minimum four (4) years of security management experience with a history of strong performance across multiple security domains.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, with a proven ability to organize and prepare presentations to share thoughtful, detailed information in easy-to-understand language and formats. Proficient at visual storytelling.
- Confident presenter and public speaker with effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to make presentations to senior level executives with clear summaries that will be used to facilitate decisions.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities and driving concurrently conducted security projects to successful completion.
- Experience in project management, organizational change, and/or process improvement .
- Adept at working through ambiguity, putting structure around problems and tasks with limited guidance.
- Strong analytical skills with high levels of attention to detail and accuracy; embraces a “Digital Mindset” and is effective at applying strategic and analytical thinking to deliver business insights; able to identify trends and patterns that contribute to improved processes.
- Effective at establishing collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders including internal McKesson functional groups. Working Conditions:

- May require up to 40% travel, based on business and operational needs.
