The Director of Accounting is responsible for monitoring the revenue and expenses of Stinger. This position oversees and manages month-end close, balance sheets, cash flow statements and income statements. This position develops and tracks metrics and KPIs for Stinger departments and works in collaboration with executive team members and department leaders to achieve strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversees the monthly close process including preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and the income statement review.
Create and maintain monthly reports to compare and analyze actual results with budgets, forecasts, and previous results
Collaborate with various department leaders to identify cost savings and maximize profitability
Work with department leaders to be a point of contact and resource to solve issues
Oversee accounts payable including payment processing and managing the AP team
Prepare sales and use tax returns
Implement and streamline ERP and Business Applications.
Issues timely and complete financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and profit and loss statements.
Coordinates the preparation of external monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
Assists the external auditors with the annual audit.
Assists with coordination of income tax returns and provision requests.
Assist with the integration of acquisitions.
Evaluates the effectiveness of Accounting systems and supporting databases and troubleshoots/fixes system issues.
Training and Supporting team members in the use of financial systems
Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Must have excellent computer and technical skills, especially Excel, and proficiency using various software systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong personal image and poise
Strength in dealing with peer groups and senior executives
Demonstrate competence in decision making
Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure
Ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Accounting or Finance related field
Minimum 5 years work experience in comparable field or position
Experience with NetSuite preferred
ERP management and implementation experience preferred
Supervisory Responsibility:
Manages 1 direct report
Environmental/Physical Requirements:
Indoor offices with controlled temperature
May sit for long periods of time
Crouching, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, and lifting occasionally
Operating computer, telephone, voicemail and other office equipment regularly
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs on a regular basis

Hours– Full Time: 9am – 6pm, Monday – Friday
Position Location:Clearwater, FL (In Office)
Travel: Up to 10% travel
