About the Opportunity:

We are hiring a Director of Business Operations, based in the Oakland area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work closely with executive leadership during a period of rapid growth. This leadership role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, optimizing business processes, and supporting the execution of strategic initiatives. Vumedi has a collaborative, transparent culture, and we want to hire someone who is a self-starter, interested in learning and developing the business and growing along with us for the long-term.

What You'll Do:

  • Establish rhythm of business (RoB) incorporating process and cadence for OKRs, all hands meetings, leadership meetings, Board meetings, quarterly business reviews, etc.
  • Organize and facilitate leadership team meetings to include curating agendas, setting priorities, and tracking decisions and action items to ensure follow up
  • Utilizing OKR best practices, help leaders write their OKRs that align with company priorities and ensure accountability and outputs with frequent check points
  • Be an integral part of yearly strategy and company goal planning
  • Be a right hand to the CEO during quarterly planning and for special projects
  • Partner directly with senior leaders and cross functional teams to solve hard scaling initiatives and incubate new programs
  • Surface and drive initiatives that will most move the needle on our top company metrics
  • Strategic advisor, thought partner and confidant; a highly trusted person with whom to discuss and pressure‐test ideas
  • Provide an extra set of hands to help with or lead strategic priorities or special projects as defined by the leadership team

About You:

  • Highly objective, structured thinker comfortable using frameworks to evaluate decisions; Uses analytical skills to interpret, translate and simplify complexity to others exploring a range of solutions and recommendations to drive business growth
  • Exceptional organizational skills as it relates to weekly, monthly, quarterly timelines; Able to help bring order and effectively manage complex and ambiguous projects
  • Strong business acumen to understand what each department does and inherent risks and opportunities
  • Self-starter acts with an entrepreneurial spirit, identifying opportunities and taking action on them with a sense of urgency; Biased to action
  • High EQ with humility and maturity; Enjoy new challenges, thrive in ambiguity, highly adaptable with intellectual flexibility to work across all topics and functions
  • Understands navigating an organizational matrix to get things done with strong accountability without dropping the ball
  • Able to see the big picture of things with a strategic mindset aligning detailed work to the overall strategy
  • Effective communication skills across different mediums; Able to influence and connect with key stakeholders and use those communication skills to move work forward while driving consensus and collaboration across senior leadership
  • Enthusiastic, positive and creative attitude

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with proven experience (10+ years) driving business strategy and operations in high growth environments with broad exposure to multiple functions; MBA or higher degree preferred
  • Consulting background from a top consulting firm with exposure to a wide range of business problems; SaaS / Healthcare / Startup experience is a plus
  • Stage relevant experience understanding how similar companies operate
  • Ability to work across the entire company, from executive staff to individual contributors in all areas to drive rapid, cross-functional projects and deliverables
  • Proven record of success launching "0 to 1" projects and executing on them
  • Proven record of project management in high ambiguity, high flexibility environments
  • Demonstrated consistent cross-functional collaborator and business partner, directly contributing to teams to achieve overall objectives
  • Experience driving large initiatives from framing the problem, conducting research/analysis to building the business and operational plans through to driving execution to success is required
  • Experience facilitating meetings with a strong focus on goals and outcomes
