Assists the Head Football Coach with the management of a competitive NCAA Division II football program. Will include assisting with conditioning, practices, recruiting, travel arrangements and overall day to day management of the Universitys football program.

Job Duties
Trains and prepares student athletes. Develops and prepares athletes for college competition including but not limited to speed, strength and conditioning and play development. Ensures athletes are making satisfactory academic progress; works with the Faculty Academic Representative, the Academic Coordinator and Registrar to monitor athletes grades; establishes and coordinates study halls; provides mentors and tutors as needed; and ensures all student athletes are academically eligible per NCAA and conference requirements and entered correctly into the NCAA Compliance Program; and maintains regular office consultation hours. Other duties as assigned.
Performance Standards
Defensive Coordinator
Job Duties
Plans, organizes and conducts all practices for the defensive unit. This includes daily on field coaching and management at all practice sessions and games; organizing game preparation including film breakdown; developing game plans and scouting reports related to the defensive unit for each contest; develops an annual defensive playbook and teaching progression; supervises and evaluates all defensive coaching including the position specific coaching; and schedules and manages film sessions and meetings for all defensive positions. Other duties as assigned.
Performance Standards
Bachelors Degree
Three years football coaching experience at high school, collegiate or professional level. Experience as a head coach and player is preferred.
Physical Demands Required
Required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear and use hands to handle and feel objects; lift and / or move up to 50lbs; reach with hands and arms, climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally lift and / or move up to 100lbs; have vision abilities that include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and moderate noise level that can be loud depending on the circumstances.
Compliance Responsibilities Required
Required to ensure NCAA, conference and University policies and mandated requirements are correctly interpreted and met and documentation is maintained per policies and procedures; maintain qualifications and certification(s) and complete required annual training.
Other
Required to have a valid drivers license; NCAA Rules Compliance Certification; and First Aid, CPR, AED certification. Required to travel out of town for extended periods, work evenings, nights and weekends.
