Position Function
Responsible for the delivery of physical therapy services to all sports. Assist the Associate AD/ Sports Medicine in athletic training needs for football and other sports as needed. Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Associate AD/Sports Medicine. Must be a dual credentialed physical therapist and certified athletic trainer or hold an ABPTS certification in sports physical therapy.
Salary Grade: 16

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Doctoral degree in an accredited physical therapy doctoral program with four (4) years of experience in a professional/collegiate Division I athletic program as a licensed physical therapist or athletic trainer.
Must be a dual credentialed licensed physical therapist and certified athletic trainer or hold an ABPTS certification in sports physical therapist.
Preferred Qualifications
BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and able to be licensed by the State of Mississippi.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of rehabilitation services provided to all sports.
- Lead collaboration between the team physicians and their physical therapy departments in conjunction with the Associate AD/Sports Medicine.
- Lead the prevention and care of student-athlete injuries and illnesses with Associate AD/ Sports Medicine.
- Maintain computerized health/injury records on supervised student-athletes.
- Serve as liaison between student-athletes and the team physician. This includes ensuring compliance with team physician instructions.
- Collaborate with staff athletic trainers, team physicians, and other healthcare professionals on the rehabilitation needs for all sports.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director/Sports Medicine (Football) for the rehabilitation services of the football program.
- Assist in the athletic training needs for football. This includes direct team and sport coverage.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Leo Seal and Holliman athletic training rooms. Ensure proper use of equipment and facilities by student-athletes, including adherence to athletic training room time schedules and proper operating procedures.
- Obtain required continuing education requirements to fulfill state and national certification maintenance.
- Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team with the strength and conditioning, sports science, sports nutrition, and sport psychology/counseling staffs.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of certain fundamental concepts.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours.
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to work in extreme weather temperatures.
- Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dirt, chemicals, etc.
- Job frequently requires walking, standing, lifting, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.
- Requires handling of heavy weight objects up to 100 lbs. on a regular basis and on occasion up to 150 lbs.
- Vision requirement: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
