Title: Director of Public Relations

Pay: $85-95/hr

Contract: 6 month to hire

Location: Washington DC- working onsite 2-3 times a month

Requirements

• 10+ years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, or related field.
• Ability to travel (10%) (domestic and international)
• Knowledge working in the public/ government affairs space
• Experience leading and growing teams from day-to-day coaching to mapping out career growth pathways building out skillsets for team members
• Ability to set strategy, manage execution while building credibility and trust with senior executives and C-Suite leaders
• Strong story-telling and writing skills that tangibly advance company goals
• You adapt easily and thrive in a rapidly changing environment and able to demonstrate geo-political knowledge and how macro issues can impact the company business and brand
• You execute effectively while demonstrating confidence and grace under pressure acting as an advisor and counselor to executives

Day to day

As the Director of Public Relations , you will lead and advise PR teams and programs. This role is part of a broader team supporting the Chief People, Purpose, and Policy officer. Responsibilities span sustainability, digital upskilling, reskilling, P&L areas, company mission, political policy, and country digitization.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing an integrated, coordinated approach to communications, with specific support for Public Policy/Gov Affairs and Business Unit P&L centers.
• Turning strategy into actionable communications plans, regularly monitored against business priorities.
• Overseeing media campaigns and responding to major public policy issues.
• Coordinating communications strategy and materials for senior executives’ interviews, meetings, and public appearances.
• Leading teams in creating original content that highlights our positions on key issues related to the DC and Brussels environment.
• Crafting compelling content to raise awareness of our global investments in closing the digital divide.
