Job Details
Director of Oncology – BMT / Stem Cell
Reports to the COO
This is a newly created position that will be responsible for looking over the Bone Marrow Transplant and the Stem Cell program.
The ideal candidate is someone with a background in stem cell / bone marrow transplant.
BSN/MSN with management and BMT experience is critical.
The director will design a department from the ground up, including buying new equipment, hiring staff, establishing protocols, writing SWI’s and preparing for onboarding patients.
What is the scope, including FTEs and direct supervisors. The stakeholder will oversee the operations of the BMT/Cellular therapy program. This is a program that will need to be developed as we currently do not have a program at this time. It will report directly to the COO and have around 15 reports once the program is fully functioning.
What is the department size and patient population? – Today the department only has 2 physicians. We are expecting for the department to have 15-25 people. We see about 10 Heme patients per month which will grow.
What is the strategic goal to accomplish in 6 months? One year? In 6 months we would like to be at full staff with all processes in place. 1 year from now would be gearing for our 1st transplant and getting prepared for FACT accreditation.
