About Major League Table Tennis (MLTT):


Table tennis has been an Olympic sport since 1988 and is one of the most viewed sports in the world, watched by hundreds of millions of people on an annual basis. Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) is the first professional table tennis league in America, featuring elite US and international players, including Olympic athletes and national champions, all competing in an innovative, team-based divisional format that begins in September and culminates in a championship weekend the following April. 


Position Overview:


We are preparing to embark on our second season after a successful launch for 2023-24. To better serve that growth, MLTT is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Ticket Sales to lead the ticket sales efforts for its events. The Director of Ticket Sales will be responsible for developing and executing strategies and partnerships to maximize ticket revenue, increase attendance, and enhance the overall fan experience. This position requires a proactive and motivated individual with a proven track record in ticket sales and event marketing.


Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive ticket sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize attendance at MLTT events and matches.
  2. Own your top strategies and present solutions to execute them, from partnerships to personnel. 
  3. Identify target markets and segments, and develop tailored sales initiatives to attract diverse audiences, including individual fans, corporate groups, and community organizations.
  4. Cultivate and maintain relationships with group ticket holders, sponsors, partners, and other stakeholders to drive repeat business and foster loyalty.
  5. Collaborate with marketing and promotions teams to create compelling campaigns, promotions, and special offers to drive ticket sales and increase fan engagement.
  6. Utilize CRM systems and sales analytics tools to track sales performance, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for optimization and growth.
  7. Oversee ticket inventory management, pricing strategies, and distribution channels to ensure efficient and effective ticketing operations.
  8. Coordinate with venue management and operations teams to optimize seating configurations, amenities, and the overall fan experience.
  9. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and competitor activities, and leverage insights to continuously improve MLTT's ticket sales strategies and processes.
  10. Prepare regular reports, presentations, and forecasts to update senior management on ticket sales performance, trends, and projections.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sports management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ticket sales, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and collaborate with team members to achieve collective goals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and a keen understanding of sales analytics and CRM systems.
  • Proactive, results-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
  • Passion for sports and a commitment to delivering exceptional fan experiences.
