POSITION PURPOSE


The purpose of this role is to assist the current Head of Trade and Distribution with operational day-to-day tasks while contributing to the design and execution of strategic sales initiatives and other key priorities.


Responsibilities to include correcting daily operational issues related to supply, stocking, wholesaler systems, driving initiatives, identifying opportunities, developing and maintaining key relationships, and proposing innovative solutions. This individual will act as a liaison between corporate and key accounts, aiming to enhance current customer business opportunities by executing sound business agreements and identifying incremental opportunities. Customer responsibilities include but are not limited to National Wholesalers, Warehousing and Non-warehousing Chains, Distributors, Group Purchasing Organizations, Specialty Pharmacies and Mail Order organizations.


Additional responsibilities of this role include identifying, negotiating, and executing on opportunities to meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets for US, as well as to create and enhance customer partnerships. Other priorities include driving strategic initiatives and providing subject matter expertise on industry trends and customer needs.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Working with Head of Trade through negotiations mutually beneficial purchasing agreements within company policies and guidelines that profitably maximize the utilization and distribution of Biocon products and services.


Drive commercial opportunities and address issues appropriately for informed and timely decision-making. Included would be managing supply issues, rebate payments, GPO membership alignment, Wholesaler system issues, Wholesaler DOH and Forward DC stocking issues, to name a few.


Proactively develop and nurture strong customer relationships and engage in continuous dialogue with current & potential partners to extend our reach and influence within our industry. Initiate and develop relationships with key decision-makers at all accounts as well as corporate personnel through frequent contact and communication. Networking should focus on the enhancement of overall business relations, practices, and procedures.

Ensure effective account management by regularly analyzing existing business plans and providing relevant modification recommendations.


Collaborate with sales and accounts to align and coordinate proposed sales team projects and intelligence, prioritizing and driving initiatives and decisions.


Build robust relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Pricing and Contracts, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Relations, and Leadership. Coordinate with shared resources (e.g., marketing, supply, etc.), to successfully meet account performance objectives as well as management and customer expectations. Manage all aspects, in collaboration with key internal stakeholders, of large, complex, and strategic commercial projects driving our internal executive alignment and primary to negotiating contracts and agreements.


Perform other duties as assigned while ensuring departmental compliance with company, regulatory, industry, and government regulations.




QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


KNOWLEDGE

Must possess knowledge of the distribution of pharmaceutical products, as well as an understanding of the external forces which ultimately affect the purchase decision. A comprehensive knowledge of the multisource marketplace, including reimbursement issues and contracting arrangements is necessary. Additionally, must be an ambitious, self-sufficient, reliable, and goal-oriented individual capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be capable of effectively negotiating, problem solving, and implementing sound business plans in coordination with Biocon Biologics’ goals and objectives.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have strong computer (which applications?), oral/written communication (can capture in the “communication” section), organizational and sales/negotiation skills are critical to the success of the position. The successful incumbent will demonstrate the ability to flourish in a highly competitive environment and adapt to overcoming obstacles routinely.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience required. A Master’s degree (or equivalent) and 8 years of experience preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

None required.


COMMUNICATION

Ability to read and interpret comprehensive and intricate research documents.Ability to write scientific reports and technical correspondence. Ability to work with executives and communicate abstract concepts. Ability to present to a high level of the organization and groups outside of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform computations such as percentages, ratios, and rates.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, solid geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve problems with complex variables through non-standardized solutions that require independent judgment and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and use deductive reasoning with no prescribed procedures to solve complex problems.
