The Marketing department creates passion and relevance for the "Dolby Difference" driving sell-in and sell-thru of Dolby enabled devices, services, content, and experiences across multiple constituents – partners, creators, consumers, and developers.

Dolby is looking for a world-class product marketer for our newly formed on-the-go entertainment group to drive awareness and adoption of Dolby’s solutions that enable premium entertainment experiences across on-the-go entertainment devices (comprised of cars, mobile, PC, and gaming devices) both for B2B and B2C audiences.

This is a critical role that will help drive interest and preference for Dolby’s products and services through inspiring stories, compelling marketing programs, and the management of high-value marketing partnerships. As a Product Marketing Manager, you will work cross-functionally with business, product, and sales stakeholders across the on-the-go device categories to inform a cohesive go-to-market strategy for all new and current offers as well as build and drive execution for the marketing plans for the auto products. You’ll work closely with PR, Design, Brand, Content, Digital, Consumer Category functions, and Regional Marketing leads to create holistic plans for the portfolio. You will also play a key role as an advocate for the products and business and a steward for exceptional marketing practices – contributing to optimizing our marketing practices to ensure efficacy, impact, and smart ROI.

You are a strategic and analytical product marketer with deep product and industry marketing expertise. You have a first-hand understanding of what differentiates Dolby as a vital technology in entertainment across devices and platforms and how to communicate that to the world. Essential skills include a keen understanding of the entertainment industry to inform product development, the ability to craft clear and compelling product positioning, drive competitive analyses, and design and execute go-to-market strategies in support of the auto solutions and broader Dolby awareness, adoption, and engagement goals.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product management, sales, and other organizational leaders to set and deliver against coordinated business and marketing goals.
  • Guide the creation and execution of annual and quarterly go-to-market plans in partnership with marketing colleagues, other cross-functional marketing partners, the business group, and sales.
  • Influence product strategy by leading market assessments to define the category’s next set of opportunities or shape existing priorities.
  • Identify key data inputs for go-to-market plans, drive projects to inform and optimize marketing programs through the application of consumer, industry, and market insights.
  • Develop product marketing deliverables for on-the-go entertainment solutions – value proposition, product positioning statements, user benefits, naming, and brand recommendations, etc.
  • Translate complex product concepts into simple, creative, and impactful communications that resonate with key business and consumer audiences.
  • Conceive and lead global initiatives to drive product adoption within the business and consumer segments across the device portfolio.
  • Develop sales enablement materials to support key product launches.
  • Partner with marketing functions to provide input into industry marketing campaigns, inclusive of email, social, paid digital and content, PR/AR, and event-based activations.
  • Establish and track metrics that matter. Monitor ROI for the go-to-market efforts, evaluate and optimize continuously.

Qualifications / Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in building impactful marketing strategies, creating, and executing product marketing plans, 12+ years of business strategy experience at a strategy consulting firm or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is required, MBA preferred.
  • Significant expertise in the auto industry across a global context.
  • A well-rounded marketer able to flex to different products, industries, and roles as the business evolves. Can operate in ambiguity, able to create clarity.
  • Left and right brain thinker who draws energy from strategic, analytical, and creative activities. Excellent creative problem solver.
  • Has technical acumen. Possesses vision to identify whitespace opportunities. Experience supporting the development and commercialization of breakthrough innovations.
  • Persuasive storyteller with excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Has significant experience and talent influencing cross-functional stakeholders including business, product, engineering, and sales.
  • Results and outcomes driven. Track record of success in launching new offers.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $225,000 - 275,000, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
