Director of Project Management, Shipbuilding
Overview:
Join a leading organization in the shipbuilding industry as the Director of Project Management. This role involves overseeing complex shipbuilding contracts and ensuring successful collaboration with all involved parties. You will be responsible for coordinating efforts between the shipyard, subcontractors, and government representatives to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Lead and manage shipbuilding contracts, overseeing all project personnel, subcontractors, and team partners.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain regular communication with contracting officers, program managers, and other key government employees involved in the projects.
- Contract Management: Ensure alignment and compliance with contracts and manage all contractual and technical aspects of the projects.
- Team Leadership: Supervise the program team, ensuring all engineering and IT partners meet their contractual obligations.
- Deliverable Management: Oversee the preparation and submission of all contract deliverables, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Integrated Schedule Monitoring: Track project schedules to ensure milestones are met on time.
- Financial Oversight: Review and approve milestone payment requests, monitor project expenditures, and manage contract invoices to stay within budget.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all project activities comply with safety and security requirements, adhering to necessary precautions and protocols.
- Representation and Communication: Represent the organization at major program engagements, addressing any issues and ensuring proper implementation of corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marine transportation, construction management, shipyard management, naval architecture, or marine engineering.
- Minimum five years of senior program management experience in U.S. Government shipbuilding projects.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, well-developed interpersonal abilities, and financial and budgeting expertise.
- Experience managing government contracts.
