About The Role

Howard Hughes’s real estate portfolio is strategically positioned to meet and accelerate development based on market demand, resulting in one of the strongest real estate platforms in the country. We are searching for an entrepreneurial-minded commercial real estate sales manager to drive business development for our national program across our real estate platform. In collaboration with HHH’s SVP Sales & Leasing and other business units, the selected candidate will source new corporate and brokerage relationships, manage HHH’s participation in real estate tradeshows, and work with municipal partners on expanding the HHH brand.

Essential Responsibilities

Business Development: Develop relationships with key brokers, site selectors, other real estate development professionals, etc. in target donor markets to effectively source transactions and have an “ear to the ground” on corporate relocations and office activity.

Partnership Coordination: Serve as single point of contact for national trade organizations and local chapters, including CoreNet, NAIOP, SIOR, ICSC, and establish relationships within organization to maximize HHH presence and exposure. Organize and deliver event activations at local and national conferences.

MarComms Integration: Partner with corporate communications, national and local marketing, and social media teams to create compelling storytelling, best-in-class marketing collateral for commercial developments, and social media content strategy.

Content Development & Thought Leadership: Proactively seek out and synthesize industry trends and social research into which the company’s data analytics can be integrated to produce consumable business development pitches, thought-leadership pieces, and marketing campaigns.

About You

  • 8+ years of experience in business development in the real estate industry.
  • Proven track record in creating and executing value-maximizing strategies for partnerships at trade events.
  • Desire to travel to new markets to grow the awareness of the HHH brand and commercial opportunities.
  • Proven experience identifying and cultivating long-term business relationships with brokers and tenants.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple daily tasks and longer-term strategic projects; capable of prioritizing and meeting timelines.
  • The experience and gravitas to manage internal and external constituencies.
  • From a cultural-fit perspective, this person must be highly collaborative by nature and be willing to roll up his/her sleeves to drive the business. Highly organized, patient, and strategic orientation with an ability to defend his/her position in a well-reasoned, articulate fashion in a non-authoritative environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholder groups and government officials important to advocacy efforts.
  • Proven, effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with a broad range of constituencies and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and leverage external resources/ relationships with stakeholder groups that promote HHC’s business expertise and profile.
