Director, Research & Market Intelligence
Zelis is a rapidly growing healthcare technology company revolutionizing the financial experience for payors, providers, and patients. We are looking for a Director of Research & Market Intelligence to lead our global research and intelligence efforts. This is an opportunity to build and grow an international team that will provide Zelis with deep insights into brand, products, and competitive intelligence. This high-profile role is responsible for leading all of Zelis’ business to business and business to consumer surveys and research projects across the entire company.
The team is a key resource for decision making and you will play a key role in recommending research methods, leading survey design, and presenting insightful and actionable results to leaders across the company. This role is highly collaborative both within marketing and across all of Zelis and is a key driver of developing product and marketing strategy.
Location and Workplace Flexibility: We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture and all of our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities, if applicable, vary based on the work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead quantitative and qualitative research across business units and within marketing, which includes an international team of analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture with responsibility for recruiting, mentoring, and leading a team
- Provide key framework and be the subject matter expert on research methodologies, interpreting survey results, nurture and define best practice statistical techniques, and where necessary reform and refine methods and survey questions
- Lead efforts in competitive analysis, delivering actionable intelligence that informs the Zelis marketing, sales, and product strategies
- Ensure a culture of openness and willingness to pursue experimentation while establishing efficient processes within the Research & Insights team
- Lead a small team of Analytics professionals located in India
- PhD in Organizational Psychology, Psychology, Economics, Statistics or related field and 5+ years in a research role; (PhD All But Dissertation is acceptable) OR MS in Organizational Psychology, Statistics, Economics, Math, or other quantitative field and 10+ years in a research role and 3+ years in a leadership role
- 5+ years of experience bringing process and structure to support research driven decisions
- 5+ years of experience leading quantitative and qualitative research across varied functions such as marketing, product planning, and sales
- 3+ years of experience managing a team of highly analytical individuals
- Proven experience partnering with and utilizing knowledge from third party vendors, contractors, and outside consultants
- Proven experience showcasing growth opportunities for fast-growing organizations via understanding, defining, and storytelling of complex data
- 5+ years of experience with Qualtrics or QuestionPro to create, distribute, and gather survey data
- 5+ years of experience reading and working with database languages/queries, such as Python, SQL, and/or R
