DES Growth Partners, Inc. is a leading supplier to the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry, offering a range of products and services aimed at enhancing bioprocess efficiency and reducing time to market.
Job Title
Director, Supply Chain
Location:
Allentown, PA (No remote work)
Compensation
Base salary of $135,000 to $160,000 per year, with a total estimated compensation range of $179,600 to $203,300 annually.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning: Oversight of supply planning for all projects to maintain target inventory levels and customer service metrics.
Operations Optimization: Enhancing operational systems and processes to maximize effectiveness and increase margins through operational excellence.
New Product Launch: Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure timely new product launches by integrating consumer needs, competitive intelligence, and supplier insights.
Supply Chain Management: Leading supply chain reporting, measuring KPIs, and evaluating/building flexible manufacturing networks.
Process Improvement: Identifying, testing, and implementing improvements in systems, processes, and reporting to minimize cost volatility.
Leadership and Training: Leading meetings and training events to enhance productivity, improve employee effectiveness, and achieve business objectives.
Acquisition and Divestiture Support: Playing a key supporting role in acquisition or divestiture activities.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related business major (MBA preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 8+ years in pharma, life sciences, or capital equipment environments, with at least 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
Certification: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification strongly preferred.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and influencing capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with master production scheduling (Syteline experience a plus).
Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO-9000), strategic sourcing methodologies, contract negotiation expertise, and project management.
Core Competencies: Supplier Relationship Management, Strategic Sourcing, Contract Lifecycle Management, Budget Planning, and Negotiations.
Other Details
Travel: Approximately 25% travel required, primarily domestic with occasional international travel to the UK.
Reporting: Directly reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
This role emphasizes a blend of strategic leadership in supply chain management, operational optimization, and cross-functional collaboration within a specialized industry sector. It requires a seasoned professional capable of driving efficiency, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to business growth initiatives through effective supply chain strategies.
