The Distributor Sales Manager is responsible for leading and directing profitable growth by fully leveraging all capabilities, assets and functions within the organization and by building and maintaining strong distributor relationships to proactively pursue all business opportunities.
Successful Distributor management will include pricing and promotion recommendation, logistics and orders oversite, customer data management and insight, distributor sales calls, detailed forecasting and all distributor maintenance and administrative detail. This position may require the effective alignment with our broker partners or account sales team in accomplishing goals and will require a high degree of self-management and motivation. The Distributor Sales Manager is expected to prepare and deliver professional data-based sales presentations and distributor reviews, effectively communicate with distributors as required, demonstrate cross-channel proficiency, effectively communicate cross-functionally with internal support teams and provide updates and communication on a timely basis.
The primary method of evaluating the performance of the Distributor Sales Manager will include distributor annual revenue growth and new business development.
Responsibilities:
Planning and successful execution of annual business plans for each of the distributors assigned; pricing, promotion, assortment, administrative paperwork, plan-o-grams, forecasting, P&L
Analyzing and using both internal and external syndicated data sources to support business plans and distributor alignment.
Generate distributor insights and demonstrate distributor influence
Researching and recommending new business opportunities
Support to account sales team as required with distributor alignment at DSD accounts
Education and/or Experience
BS Degree in Business or related field, 8-10 years of sales/account/distributor management experience. Experience in Ice Cream/Frozen categories a plus.
Requirements:
Strategic planning and business management, including proactive problem solving, sales forecasting, P&L analysis, and fixed cost budget development;
Proven track record of relevant experience and success;
Previous knowledge and experience with frozen consumer packaged goods and experience with both DSD and direct distribution;
Exceptional communication skills, with ability to present, sell-in ideas at the executive level;
Personal Attributes: self-starter, energetic, extravert, organized, disciplined, comfort with multi-tasking, humble, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, good listener;
Personal Skills: strong (organized and concise) written and verbal communication, comfortable and capable with numbers/metrics/data, technical
Proficiency in MS Office, Advanced Excel, Advanced PowerPoint.
Ability to understand and leverage Syndicated data is a Must.
Travel required (approximately 25-30%) to customers, customer events, store visits, industry events, etc.;
