We are currently hiring for a direct-hire Electrical/Electronic Engineer (Level III), Hardware. This position is with our customer, a solutions-oriented company dedicated to creating revolutionary communications solutions for a myriad of applications with focus in safety, security and defense. Summary:

Researches, designs, and develops embedded hardware for wireless products. Successful candidate must be a flexible team player, willing to engage diverse technical challenges, and work in conjunction with software product development to ensure high quality and timely project completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit proficiency in broad analytical, design, and development assignments related to product development.
  • Develop basic electrical designs to realize analog and digital requirements.
  • Develop hardware design solutions including analog and digital circuit design for low power communication, real time embedded microprocessor-based board level design, firmware applications.
  • Develop schematics, BOMs, layout, and libraries for printed circuit boards using our CAD system.
  • Participate in the building and testing of circuit boards, electrical and mechanical systems, and components.
  • Must be familiar with oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, meters, and other test equipment commonly used to test and troubleshoot circuits and systems.
  • Oversee engineering life cycle of hardware products including architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Confer with product marketing on writing of functional specifications.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and orders necessary parts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Technical bachelor's degree (BSEE) from a four-year college or university, and at least five years related experience required. Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of analog/digital circuit and system design fundamentals is required.
  • Basic knowledge of RF fundamentals is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of software fundamentals is preferred
  • US Citizenship required

Computer Skills:

  • Operate personal computer in an office environment.
  • Ability to learn the CAD tools required for design work.
  • Ability to evaluate simulation and CAD tools for procurement.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Candidate must possess the ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Innovative Thinking:

  • Individual must display original thinking and creativity; meeting challenges with resourcefulness in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, bend, climb, kneel, lift, push, reach, or stoop for extended periods.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift, Monday-Friday (onsite)
  • Day shift

Ability to Relocate:

  • Lynchburg, VA 24504: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Work Environment:

  • Office-based

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation ranging from $80,000 to $115,000 base annual salary, based on qualifications and experience, plus additional compensation opportunities.
