Compensation:
Electrical Engineering Intern (Rep.) (TA): $64,608 - $68,034
Responsibilities:
Incumbent will be responsible for performing tasks regarding CBTC projects (QBL West, 8th Ave, etc.). Reviewing technical documentation (i.e., schematics, drawings, wiring diagrams, test procedures, test reports); support vendor comprehensive CBTC test plans; assist in preparing test reports; assist in developing and implementing modification procedures; provide technical support for Maintenance Shops in troubleshooting and diagnosing Carbone CBTC electronic and software system failures and provide shop support for equipment and software integration, installations and modifications.
Education and Experience:
A baccalaureate degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college. A degree in any other engineering area or in electrical engineering technology is not acceptable.
Desired Skills:
- Review and analysis of documentation related to electrical/electronic systems and microprocessor based controls/systems.
- Use of computer based data capture software or test equipment and data analysis.
- Interpret and analyze electronic equipment performance data (i.e. test data, data downloads, on screen data).
- Practical knowledge of electrical/electronic circuits/systems, software, computer programming/coding, communications networks.
- Troubleshooting of microprocessor based and electronic systems.
- Practical knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Working knowledge of PC based engineering simulation and analysis tools.
- Ability to visit field locations on an as needed basis in the performance of assigned tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
