Electronic Data Interchange Analyst

Design Group is recruiting for an EDI Systems Analyst. This position involves responsibility for the company's EDI systems and integrated applications with a focus on enabling process improvement and better business decision making through improved transactional flow, access to data and reports. The individual will work to provide support on the EDI and ERP systems on a day-to-day basis. In addition, the person in this position plays a key role in supporting Inbound and Outbound transaction processing. Experience in or a basic understanding of one or more of the following is required to be successful: EDI Standard Formats (ANSI X12), EDI Communications Software, EDI Translation Software, EDI Protocols, EDI Security Concepts. These systems are critical to the daily operation of business units and can impact profitability of the company.


WHAT WILL I DO IN THIS ROLE?

  • Builds and maintains business and personal relationships with other internal areas and external customers in assigned business areas and within IT organization.
  • Develops and maintains expertise in business processes, business data, industry standards and regulatory requirements for EDI areas.
  • Maintains awareness of functional, company and corporate business objectives and strategies.
  • Provides daily support and participates in multiple projects to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Participates in project team meetings and follows project plans and project reporting requirements.
  • An active partner with the business units to promote, prioritize and manage customer-based EDI activity for the organization.
  • Works independently on EDI development work effectively to meet key milestones and business objectives.
  • Participates in the implementation of new systems, processes, and system changes.
  • Participates in the development, enhancement and management of internal IT processes, methods, standards, and tools.
  • Maintains expertise and hands-on technical skills for the applications, databases, and toolsets and processes required for EDI area, including daily support, projects, and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of EDI transactions.
  • Assists the business in researching EDI related fees and fines.
  • All other duties as assigned.


WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or lower degree with equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 1-3 years of business experience with EDI (Electronic Data Exchange) Standards and translation software preferred. (Experience with EDI HQ beneficial).
  • Exposure to ERP systems (Preferably JD Edwards or Epicor).
  • Knowledge of basic SQL queries beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent communications skills with both non-technical and highly technical resources.
  • Able to self-manage workload, balancing small tasks and larger projects.
  • Experience working with change control tools and trouble ticket reporting systems.
