Shield HealthCare is looking for an EDI Analyst/Developer for our Valencia, CA corporate office. The EDI Analyst/Developer acts as primary systems architect and data administrator for EDI and other electronic workflow processes.


This is an on-site position in Valencia, CA.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Has work experience in EDI standards (e.g. 4010/5010, 850/855/837/835, 270/271, others)
  • Design and integration experience in FHIR, HL7, cXML, or other transmission data structures
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of new electronic transmissions
  • Ability to decipher and recommend best methods to data transmissions
  • Has developed electronic data handling in environments that required high security standards
  • Has a preference to work in high security environments and follow stringent security practices
  • Will be responsible for order/eligibility/claims/invoice processing
  • Participates in the design and implementation of EDI processes and other electronic data transmissions and creates / maintains data mapping and documentation
  • Analyzes and defines EDI requirements for Business, especially for needs and circumstances that are slightly unusual
  • Provides advice and education to Business concerning EDI guidelines and capabilities
  • Creates, develops, and produces mapping documents
  • Collaborates with development team and internal staff to develop and test new or modified systems
  • Develops and maintains communication links with trading partners and oversees integration of information
  • Periodically reviews system to ensure client needs are met; identifies possible modifications as required
  • Remains current regarding EDI and internet field technological developments
  • Supply chain processes experience is preferred
  • Strong hands-on experience with translation software
  • Experience at using ‘Automate’ or like tool for data automation
  • Able to create, modify and monitor transmission jobs including sFTP; reviews and adjusts alerting based on requirements
  • Updating & managing access to partner portals for billing & reimbursement, communicating updates to the business
  • Creates and maintains all EDI documentation (eligibility, reimbursement, purchase orders, other)
  • Performs data audits weekly and implements quality control measures
  • Monitors system performance, performs research, and troubleshoots, responds to EDI process failures
  • Ability to prioritize and handle several concurrent projects, and an ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Reviews existing business EDI processes, workflows and transmissions and make recommendations for improvements including, new systems and applications to support the business initiatives
  • Liaison between IT Operations and Development team for EDI, eligibility process workflows projects
  • Primary resource and on-call for company EDI and other translation processes
  • First tier support for all EDI and other translation processes
  • Miscellaneous projects and other related tasks as assigned by IT management


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of EDI experience (in healthcare preferred)
  • Understanding of file structures such as various EDI formats, flat files, CSV, XML, cXML, FHIR, or HL7
  • Strong understanding of sFTP and other transmission protocols
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science preferred.
