Electronic Test Technician

This is a full-time, permanent position requiring knowledge of power electronics (rectifiers, power supplies, PCB), metrology, and computer software. As part of the test department, this job may offer the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and overseas.

Performs different types of test procedures, evaluations, troubleshooting of both electrical and/or electronic equipment, wiring, and components. Also maintain detailed data and records of any troubleshooting, replacements, and repairs done on each product. Must be able to read electrical and/or electronic schematics and drawings. Basic use of hand tools and knowledge of power equipment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Test technician will perform tests on power cabinets and modules
  • Perform routine electrical tests on different types of electrical products
  • Assist in the test department with electrical instruments and equipment
  • Work with engineering on identifying issues on schematics and drawings

Responsibilities

  • In charge of troubleshooting products of both their electrical/ electronic systems
  • Test the equipment using company test procedures
  • Maintaining and keeping accurate data, records, and notes, along with uploading these
  • documents onto the company’s server.
  • Able to work safely and comfortably around high voltage equipment.

Essential Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

At minimum, an A.S degree in Electrical Engineering (Preferred) or Trade school equivalent and/or other technical training institute.

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years related Electrical / Electronic work experience.

Required Skills

  • Must be a self-starter and can work independently
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency at interpreting basic schematics and assembly drawings
  • Strong background and understanding of electrical/ power electronic systems.
  • Experience in Metrology a plus
  • Basic computer skills (words, excel,)
  • Experience in repairing electronics systems a must
  • Use of hand and some power tools
  • Basic mechanical skills
