We are looking for an Engineering Drafter II to join our growing organization!

Qualifications

General Position Summary

The Engineering Drafter II will be responsible for creating new 2D drawing packages for new product development, sustaining development, and sourcing validation projects. This position will also be responsible for collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to ensure final drawing products are accurate to purpose and will be expected to work within specific project timelines.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings. Uses CAD equipment and software.
  • Develop documentation to support new product development.
  • Creating 2D Mechanical Engineering drawings from scratch for parts and large assemblies.
  • Dimensioning and tolerancing drawings from scratch following ANSI Y14.5 standards and utilizing GD&T skills.
  • Constructing and Maintaining bills of material.
  • Reviewing and redlining drawings.
  • Communicating needs for revisions and questions regarding drawing intent with cross functional team.
  • Submitting drawing packages for redline review and completing redlines as needed.
  • Maintaining revision control and maintaining revision history.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Job Requirements

  • Experience in 2D drawing for manufacturing methods including but not limited to metal weldments, castings, forgings, injection molded plastics, and CNC machining is required.
  • Experience in 3D modeling for parts constructed via all above mentioned manufacturing practices preferred
  • Experience in managing document and revision control within a PDM vault server is required.
  • Experience in evaluating tolerance stacks and ensuring proper dimensioning methodology to optimize tolerance stacks required.
  • Experience in auditing drawing packages for errors and redlining for corrections is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with global teams.
  • Ability to multitask on multiple projects simultaneously.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Candidate shall have an AA degree and or a minimum of 3 years' work experience as an Engineering Drafter in the mechanical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years SolidWorks experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years PDMWorks Vault experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; flexible, self-directed, and able to work in a team environment both as a leader and a follower.
  • Experience with ANSI 14.5 drafting standards required.
  • Experience in drafting with GD&T principles required.

Salary Range: $62,000 - $74,000 Annually
