Position Purpose

The Engineering Project Manager position is responsible for the organization, reporting and on-time delivery of new AvaSure products using the AvaSure Product Design process. The Engineering Project Manager organizes the product development process from ideation through start of production and support. The work products of the Engineering Project Manager include completed phase gate exits for each phase of product development, weekly project reports and dashboards, budget and resource planning, Agile project management task definitions and sprint plans, metrics reporting, and management summaries of project progress. The Engineering Project Manager leads the organization of the product design team and participates in planning and reporting progress in the Agile project management process.

Education & Experience

  • 2 to 4+ years' experience in Engineering and/or Project Management required.
  • BS in Engineering or Engineering Management required.
  • Experience using Agile Project Management practices for organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling new product development tasks and engineering changes required.
  • Experience using a Software Development Lifecycle process is preferred.
  • Experience using task tracking and project management software such as YouTrack, AHA, etc preferred.
  • Agile training certification is a plus.
  • Experience using a Product Development Process for hardware projects is an added plus.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Responsible for running daily, weekly, and monthly planning and progress reporting meetings with both internal and external resources and shareholders.
  • Manage the Agile project plan with clear project vision and communication across internal engineers and outsourced project partners.
  • Manage Progress/Burndown reports and maintain dashboard and scorecard accuracy
  • Schedule and manage Phase Gate exit reviews and documentation
  • Create resource and budget plans for projects and the executive project summary
  • Determine resources and project budget for defined projects to meet delivery timing.
  • Analyze project performance to budget, time, quality, etc and elevate concerns to management.
  • Determine direction for technical tradeoffs and only elevate tradeoffs that conflict with requirements to managers.
  • Demonstrates collaboration across departments to achieve company goals.
  • Complete reports for project metrics and performance.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit for much of the workday with periodic walking and/or standing.
  • Must be able to work in an office and production environment.
  • Must be able to work on a hybrid schedule, 3 days per week onsite in Belmont (Plainfield Township), MI.
  • This position is full-time.
