About The Position / Responsibilities
Seeking a Sr. Enterprise Messaging Engineer to support a client's Digital Modernization efforts in Washington, DC. The candidate will design and review a distributed
Microsoft Windows infrastructure, provide top-tier support for Exchange 2016 or later, Windows 2016 Active Directory (AD) or later, and mail gateways. The role involves
ensuring best practices, managing Windows OS servers, and monitoring Microsoft systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and implement a virtual server environment for enterprise messaging.
Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Exchange 2016+, AD 2016+, and mail gateways.
Provide 24x7 response for urgent issues.
Administer and maintain Blackberry enterprise servers.
Understand and implement enterprise mail filtering concepts.
Required Experience And Skills
Expert knowledge of virtual server technology, configuration, and deployment.
Familiarity with industry-standard messaging systems, anti-spam, and anti-virus solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
5+ years with TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP, LDAP, SNMP, SMTP, and other networking protocols.
5+ years developing and testing disaster recovery procedures for Exchange and AD.
8+ years with Microsoft Exchange, including 2016 and DAG replication.
5+ years configuring, deploying, and maintaining SuSE Linux Enterprise Server with Novell applications.
5+ years implementing and supporting Microsoft 365 Suite products.
5+ years managing and supporting Group Policy.
5+ years with Data Protection Manager and/or Symantec NetBackup.
3+ years integrating heterogeneous mail systems.
5+ years with at least one scripting language (PowerShell, PERL, VBScript) and standard tools (LDIFDE).
3+ years with Ironmail appliances and Microsoft Forefront (highly desired).
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Technology.
Microsoft Exchange certifications.
