Lt. Gov’s Office
Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera serves as the second highest ranking elected or appointed official in the executive branch of the State of Colorado. The Office of the Lt. Governor works closely with the Office of the Governor to ensure the effective implementation of the Polis-Primavera Administration’s priorities. The Office of the Lt. Governor leads a broad portfolio of programs, including Aerospace and Defense, the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs, the Colorado Disability Funding Committee and Disability Policy, the Office of eHealth Innovation, the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care, and Serve Colorado.

Department: Office of the Lt. Governor
Position Title: Executive Assistant and to the Lt. Governor/ Chief of Staff
Salary range: $55,000 - $61,000 annually
FLSA Status: Exempt (not eligible for overtime)
Summary of Functions : This position has responsibility for providing administrative support to the Lt. Governor and the Lt. Governor’s Chief of Staff (COS). Duties include ensuring the Lt. Governor and COS’s daily scheduling requirements are met, providing ongoing administrative support to the Lt. Governor and COS, making travel arrangements, preparing required reports, drafting correspondence, staffing Lt. Governor at events, helping organize official events for the Office of the Lt. Governor, managing office priorities, supporting the Office of the Lt. Governor programs, developing and implementing internal office processes, and other duties as assigned. .
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Perform administrative tasks in support of the Office of the Lt. Governor. Duties include welcoming visitors, reviewing correspondence, managing the Lt. Governor and Chief of Staff’s schedule, preparing written documents and materials, gathering reports, maintaining records, drafting correspondence and assisting with organizing work assignments with other office staff.
Organizing and tracking paperwork, specifically scheduling and constituent requests coming through the Office of the Lt. Governor
Support constituent affairs for the Office of the Lt. Governor and programs
Provide staffing and advance work for the Lt. Governor at official events
Coordinate travel arrangements for Lt. Governor and COS
Maintain the Lt. Governor’s contacts
Manage and streamlining calendar appointments/meetings/events/travel details and materials for both the Lt. Governor and COS
Ensure the Lt. Governor’s schedule is finalized and all necessary documentation and memos are prepared
Draft memos and other meeting materials for the Lt. Governor and COS
Compose correspondence, reports, and other material
Work with the Lt. Governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) to establish and implement office procedures
Schedule phone calls and meetings
Maintain electronic records
Act as a floor warden and help ensure the safety of the people in their designated area during evacuations or emergencies.
Coordinate special projects
Manage office projects and priorities in coordination with the DCOS
Other duties as assigned

Organizational Relationships: This position reports to the Lt. Governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff and is part of the Office of the Lt. Governor. This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
Expected Annual Travel: In-state, as needed for official events. Potential out of state travel.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions Of Employment & Appeal Rights
Education/Experience: Two or more years work experience. Must possess exceptional organizational and customer service skills and the ability to maintain confidential information as well as acute attention to detail. Exemplary written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interact with a broad array of partners and stakeholders, including elected officials, Cabinet officials, state agency personnel, community partners.
