Job Description: Executive Director - The Addis Clinic

Introduction
The Addis Clinic, a leading telemedicine nonprofit organization dedicated to providing precision healthcare to underserved communities in East Africa, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director. This role is crucial in driving the mission of The Addis Clinic forward, ensuring the continued growth and sustainability of our programs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about global health, experienced in fundraising and development, and adept at leading a diverse and dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising and Development: Lead all fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor relations, and major fundraising campaigns to ensure financial sustainability and growth.
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic plan, ensuring alignment with The Addis Clinic's mission and goals.
Team Management: Oversee the recruitment, development, and performance of staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Program Oversight: Ensure the effective implementation and expansion of our global health programs, with a focus on impact and sustainability.
Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation to ensure the organization's financial health.
Board Relations: Collaborate with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates and engaging them in strategic initiatives.
Community Engagement: Represent The Addis Clinic in various forums, building partnerships with key stakeholders and promoting our mission.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience in Global Health: Demonstrated experience in global health initiatives, particularly in low and middle-income countries.
Fundraising Expertise: Proven track record of successful fundraising and development, including major gifts, grants, and donor relations.
Grant Writing: Strong experience in writing and securing grants from a variety of funding sources.
Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to advance the organization's mission and goals.
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of nonprofit financial management, including budgeting and financial reporting.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
Cultural Competence: Experience working in diverse cultural settings and an understanding of the challenges faced by underserved communities.
Language Skills: Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Writing samples may be requested.
Autonomy and Time Management: Must be able to manage both strategic vision and day-to-day operational tasks independently, with strong time management skills.
Intrinsic Motivation and Results Driven: Must possess intrinsic motivation and be results-driven.
Virtual Team Management: Ability to manage themselves and lead a virtual team across multiple locations.
Nice to Have Skills
Digital Health Experience: Familiarity with telemedicine and digital health technologies.
Healthcare Background: Clinical or healthcare administration experience.
Compensation
Base Pay: $80,000 annually.
Bonus: Opportunity for additional compensation based on fundraising achievements.
Position Details
Location: Remote, worldwide, with the understanding that we have staff members, volunteers, and board members in East Africa and the U.S. Regardless of location, this requires flexible availability.
