Executive & Legislative Assistant

Arcadian has an exciting opportunity for our new Sacramento location. We are currently hiring an executive and legislative assistant to join our rapidly growing organization. This self-motivated candidate will manage multiple administrative responsibilities while supporting the business's legal and legislative functions.


Overview of Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain calendars, appointments, meetings, travel, and community activities for the Vice President and General Counsel, Vice President of Network, and Senior Director of Government Relations.
  • Manages day-to-day activities in the Sacramento office, including communication with building management and stocking office supplies as needed.
  • Work closely with peers and stakeholders to coordinate and plan team onsite meetings and events.
  • Support scheduling calendars for candidate interviews with the Law and Government Relations team.
  • Provide additional administrative support for the San Ramon location, including—but not limited to—scheduling events, travel support, and ordering supplies and materials.
  • Regular bill and budget tracking and reporting, including monitoring the legislative calendar and communicating about hearings and deadlines.
  • Preparing briefing materials for meetings, itineraries, travel, and team activities.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials and logistics for offsite events.
  • Draft and email weekly legislative updates and bill reports, as directed.
  • Monitor or attend legislative hearings and provide well-written summaries, as directed.
  • Maintain and update Legislator Biographies each year as relevant.
  • Perform other responsibilities as necessary.


Required Skills

A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is strongly preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience as an executive administrative or legislative assistant.

Thorough understanding of the California legislative/budget process.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Energetic, self-motivated, and organized with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple projects independently and prioritize time to meet deadlines.

Professional writing skills, including knowledge of legislative standards.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Familiarity and prior experience with Capitol Track ™ a plus.

Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with various individuals in person, via telephone, and in writing.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $60,000 - $75,000 annual base, depending on experience. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program.
