Responsibilities

As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for

• Overseeing the financial operations of the hospitality sector, ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
• Developing and maintaining timely and accurate financial statements and reports appropriate for users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Managing the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the financial reports.
• Establishing, implementing, and maintaining robust financial systems and internal controls to minimize financial risk.
• Reviewing and improving processes for month-end and year-end financial close, driving efficiencies and accuracy.
• Working closely with the hospitality team to ensure accurate and timely EOM accruals.
• Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
• Coordinating audits and proper filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
• Managing the budgeting process and preparing accurate forecasts to ensure that the company's financial commitments are met.
  
  

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree such as a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within the Hospitality sector
• Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is a significant plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with financial systems, internal controls, and month-end close procedures.
• Proficiency in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of EOM accruals and accounting principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-judged decisions.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
