A well established Insurance Firm based in Manhattan is seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting and Statutory reporting within the Insurance industry. As a Financial Reporting Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, preparing accurate financial statements, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
This role will provide lots of visibility and opportunity for growth with track to CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies.
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, Statutory filings, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting.
Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to foster professional development.
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial reporting operations.
Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial and statutory reporting within the insurance industry required.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and accounting principles
Proven experience in managing financial reporting processes and leading teams.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in financial reporting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
