Financial Reporting Manager

Shore United Bank is seeking a full-time Financial Reporting Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the preparation, review, and submission of SEC forms such as Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and Call Reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining SOX controls, acting as a liaison with various levels within the organization and internal audit to uphold robust internal controls. Additionally, you will lead the quarterly close process, provide guidance to staff, review General Ledger functions, manage fixed asset processes, and offer accounting support during special projects like mergers and acquisitions. Your expertise will extend to external communications with investors, analysts, and legal teams while ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements such as CRA and BSA. Essential Functions Include

  • Manages the preparation, review, and filing of periodic SEC forms, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K and Call Report. Prepares footnotes, analysis and commentary, financial statements, and other supporting documentation, in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Is a key contributor in maintaining SOX controls and supports the Director of Financial Reporting as a SOX liaison with all business units (level 1), risk (level 2) and internal audit (level 3) to ensure adequate internal controls are maintained for the company.
  • Assists with the quarterly close process, and other financial reporting projects as needed.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees assigned to assist with all financial reporting projects. Provides training and development of assigned staff.
  • Reviews General Ledger functions; assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with GAAP.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining fixed asset processes and procedures.
  • Provides accounting assistance during special projects, such as mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
  • Assists with external communications with individual investors, investment bankers, external financial analysts, and legal teams.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.

Location: This position can be based out of Shore United Bank offices in either Easton, MD or Waldorf, MD.

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work

  • Full-time.
  • Exempt.
  • Days of Work: Monday-Friday. Quarterly SEC and Regulatory filings may require additional hours.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of accounting or finance or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Active CPA designation required.
  • Must have experience in all required filings with public news outlets and NASDAQ.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in SEC financial reporting position or as an external auditor of SEC registrants.

Compensation

  • The pay range for this position is $111,700 - $134,600 annually.
  • Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
