Essential Functions (job Duties)
POSITION PURPOSE
Operate and maintain high pressure boiler and heating equipment. General supervision is received from a designated supervisor.
Essential Job Functions
Feed water testing, adding and making adjustments to maintain chemical levels.
Seasonal take down and cleaning fo boiler, make ready for inspection.
Work with shift engineer to maintain building and equipment.
Keep heating equipment and boiler room clean.
Perform maintenance and general repoair of boilers and mechanical equipment.
Maintain records and logs.
All Firemen are considered to be "Essential Personnel," and are required to report during a university emergency closure period.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

NONE.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Training at Trade School or recognized apprentice program or equivalent experience is required.
Possession of a High Pressure City of Detroit Boiler Operator's license is required.
Some Pipefitting And General Maintenance Experience Is Required.
Ability to access equipment which may be at any height and angle from below ground level to several stories high.
Ability to work in varying environmental and possible hazardous conditions utilizing appropriate safety precautions.
Must obtain security clearance.
