Location - Boston, MA

Our client is a premier real estate investment firm located in Boston. They specialize in acquiring, managing, and optimizing high-quality real estate assets across diverse markets. The Fund Controller will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations and reporting for their investment funds. This individual will oversee the fund accounting team, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate investment accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex financial structures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the funds.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards
• Review of property and fund level performance measurement calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with NCREIF performance measurement standards.
• Review of calculations of quarterly income allocations based on complex Excel waterfall models to ensure accuracy and compliance with Fund/Account operating agreements.
• Prepare and review quarterly investor reports and distributions.
• Supervise and mentor the fund accounting team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all processes
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in public accounting experience and/or Real Estate Private Equity
• Strong knowledge of real estate investment structures, including REITs, joint ventures, and private equity funds
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
