Timmons Group is currently seeking a Geologist to join our Geotechnical and Construction Services Group located in our Richmond, VA office location. The Geologist will assist on engineering project teams performing geotechnical, civil and structural engineering designs.

Timmons Group is currently seeking a Geologist to join our Geotechnical and Construction Services Group located in our Richmond, VA office location. The Geologist will assist on engineering project teams performing geotechnical, civil and structural engineering designs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- Project work will include specifying, implementing, and interpreting soil and rock investigations, including drilling and cone penetrometer testing and in-situ testing; preparation of design documents; and writing reports.
- This position may require out of town work assignments to meet client needs. Some work locations will feature rough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment.
- Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on these sites.
- A Bachelor's degree in Geology
- At least 2 years of work experience working for a Geotechnical Engineering firm or department.
- Flexibility and willingness to modify personal schedule as required to meet project deadlines and/or client needs
- Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds
